Grocery app Grosh let’s you organize your recipe collection, shopping list, pantry / stock lists, and other types of lists. However, one thing is storing information, another is to find it again!
We’ve been hard at work and come up with a new efficient search / filtering solution based on tags, both for recipes and your shopping / stock lists. To get started, fetch the latest version 4.9 of Grosh, the intelligent shopping list app!
Improved layout on meals page
We now use a more compact tile layout of recipes across all tabs of the meals page. Especially on tablets, the new layout / styling utilizes the screen estate much better.
Drag and drop of planned meals between days
While we were at it, we also included drag and drop of meal plan items between days. Tap and hold your finger on an item and then drag it to the day you wish this meal.
Filtering recipes with tags
We’ve now revised how you select tags for filtering the recipe list. Here’s how it works now
- On the recipes page, tap the filter icon to the right to display the select tag screen
- On the select tag screen, tap any tag (or search for tags using the text field at the top)
- The app returns to the recipes page, now showing the selected tag at the top to indicate the list is being filtered
- You can combine any tags with typing in text (which looks in recipe titles)
- To remove a filter / tag, just tap it underneath the text input field.
Adding tags to recipes
The same method is used when adding a new recipe (tap + on the recipes page) or editing an existing recipe (tap a recipe, then choose Edit recipe from the … menu). Just tap the tag button and add a tag using the select tag page that appears. The app returns to the new/edit recipe screen and shows the updated tag selection.
Shopping / stock list filtering
Aligning with how the recipe filtering works, we’ve added filtering to shopping and stock lists. Here’s how it works
- On the current list tab, tap the filter icon to the right to display the select tag screen
- On the select tag screen, tap any tag (the list depends on what “tags” are used on the current list, e.g. categories used, stores assigned to items, brands assigned to items etc
- The app returns to the list, now showing the selected tag at the top to indicate the list is being filtered
- You can also type text as normal when adding items. If auto complete finds something on the list (already on the list is shown) then you can tap the item to add a filtering on that grocery name. Neat?
- To remove a filter / tag, just tap it underneath the text input field.
Other changes
- You will also notice we now have icons on all tabs in the app. Should make it more intuitive to navigate the app without reading texts.
- Improved sync during start of app, items you started to add on your list was previously removed in the initial server sync to fetch stuff other users had added. This should no longer be the case.
- Bottom banners not always updating
- And many more minor fixes
Kind regards
