We’re shipping Grosh version 1.4 today, which lets you index all of your cooking recipes in one place with the added bonus that ingredients of the recipes can be added with one tap to your shopping list.
The Problem We’re Fixing
We all know the challenge: where is that recipe we’re looking for? Somewhere amongst your cooking books, scribbled notes, or perhaps on one of the cooking blogs, recipe websites or apps you use?
Index the World’s Recipes
We have the ambition to index the world’s recipes and make them readily accessible and integrated with the smartest grocery shopping app – Grosh. This will happen by letting you, our users, store what you have as favourite recipes. As you and others use and share them, we’ll be able not only to provide with your personal vault of recipes, but also inspire you in your daily cooking.
Get started with Recipes
You can add recipes inside the Grosh app or the web app. Just hit + on the recipe list and type in your recipe details, or copy-paste from a website into the Grosh web app. If you include a link to the site, you can find the full recipe again and as a bonus you see an image of the course. This works for most websites we tested – and just tap the image if it’s not the right one for the recipe.
Another way to store a recipe is to press the orange save-in-grosh button on a web site with recipes featuring it – more on this later.
Sharing Recipes
Recipes are automatically shared with people you share shopping lists with, typically your household. Everyone in the household can edit the recipe, but only the creator can delete it.
To share the recipe outside the household, tap the share button top right on the recipe to send a mail with the recipe and a “save-in-grosh” link. You can easily store a recipe shared by a Grosh user by just tapping the link – the first time you might have to sign in on your web browser if you havn’t used our web app before.
Other Changes
We have several things planned around prices, the first being a simple summation bar at the bottom to give the total price of items tagged with price (under details). We’re currently in closed beta with our weekly offers feature that lets you swipe items on sale straight onto your grocery list including the price. More on this later.
We will continue to improve Grosh, so make sure to send us your inputs.
Kind regards
The Grosh Team
