For some languages, its very hard to activate the Grosh app using the so called wake-up word. If the voice assistant does not recognize the wake up word, Grosh never runs on your “smart” device and you’re just talking to the regular voice assistant.
Recognition of the wake-up word is the biggest problem in getting voice dictation to work. Unfortunately it is not something we can do much about. When the service is connected, Google Assistant or Alexa should prioritize the wake up word, but it doesn’t seem to work particularly well. Our service is not called at all if the voice assistant does not recognise the wake up word.
With current technology, wake up word recognition is not reliable for everyone, especially not for “narrow” languages.
There’s more artificial intelligence stuff on the way that makes it superfluous with wake up words, but hard to say when this is released.
