What are brands used for in Grosh?

August 9, 2018

Grosh supports the use of brands when describing an item on your list. Tap the grocery name to reveal extra fields for entering a brand (and package size / unit as well). When several users add the same brand, it becomes globally available and appears in the autocomplete list when typing in the name of a brand.

If you scan a barcode to add an item to the list, and Grosh does not know the barcode, you will be asked to describe the item. This includes the brand, as barcodes are unique to each and every brand of a particular product, like milk. Therefore you must specify the brand when adding items using barcodes.

How do I change the user interface language?

June 26, 2018

Grosh has been translated to many major languages, but not all. When you select “language” under Settings, you control the language of contents in the system, e.g. items you add to shopping lists, category names, recipes etc. If the Grosh user interface has been translated to your language, you will see a change when you select your language. If not, Grosh falls back to English.

Why does Facebook login fail?

June 26, 2018

We use Facebook login for authentication and don’t ask permission to see your friends nor post anything on your behalf. Facebook login only works if your Grosh account email matches the email reported by Facebook. If you create a new account with Facebook, it will – but as you already have an account, it might not work for you (unless you change the email in Grosh to match the one in Facebook, or vice versa).
