How do I change the password?

June 15, 2021

If you’re logged into the app, choose Logout under Settings. On the login screen, press “Forgotten password”, enter your email and we will send you an e-mail with a link to reset your password. Through this link, you can choose a new password. Use that password to login from the various devices where you installed Grosh.

Can I mark an item as important?

June 15, 2021

Yes, you can assign priority to shopping list items by tapping details, then tap the item name to make additional detail fields visible. One of them is the “Important” toggle switch. When this is ON, you will see a exclamation mark marking on the shopping list. You can tap the exclamation mark to filter / unfiltered the list. Also check out this blog post.

Can I use one account from multiple devices?

June 15, 2021

Yes, but this requires that you setup email / password for your account and use that from all the devices that should login to your account.

Note: If you just tap continue on the last intro page instead of tapping Have an account? you’re not logging into your account using email /password. What actually happens behind the scenes is that you login using the so-called device id associated with the device. When you login using your device id, you will log out any other devices using email / password credentials. If you happened to do this by mistake, you can always logout from Settings, choose to reset your password on the Login screen – and then login using email/password.

What can I say to Grosh using voice dictation with Siri?

March 21, 2021

The Siri support in Grosh is based on what Apple calls the task and reminder domain. The means there’s a set of predefined commands that we can support, and therefore the supported commands are a lot fewer than it is possible to support for Alexa and Google Assistant. However, on the positive side, the commands seem to work quite well.

You can add one or multiple items to a specified list:
“Add milk to my shopping list in Grosh”
or
“Add milk, sugar and tomato to my grocery list in Grosh”

For the other languages supported by both Siri and Grosh, you can say:

  • Danish: Tilføj bananer til min indkøbsliste i Grosh
  • Dutch: Voeg bananen toe aan mijn boodschappenlijst in Grosh
  • Finnish: Lisää ostoslistaan banaaneja Grosh
  • French: Ajouter des bananes à ma liste de courses dans Grosh
  • German: Füge Bananen zur Einkaufsliste in Grosh hinzu
  • Italian: Aggiungi le banane alla mia lista della spesa in Grosh
  • Portuguese: Adicione bananas à minha lista de compras no Grosh
  • Russian: Добавить бананы в мой список покупок в Grosh
  • Spanish: Añade plátanos a mi lista de la compra en Grosh
  • Swedish: Lägg till bananer till min shoppinglista i Grosh

We’ve added a setting in Grosh called “Siri ignore list name” which does what it says. It means you can always just say “shopping list” as list name and not worry where the items ends up.

Why does the app not automatically apply a filter to the shop?

March 21, 2021

When arriving at a store, the app will detect that you’re at that store based on previous shopping trips to that location. If there’s more stores in the vicinity, you may have to select which store you’re at using the sorting button top right.
Once the store is selected, the store appears next to the list name in the header. So far so good – but why does the list not filter out items marked for other stores?
That is intentional, you might want to buy stuff marked for other stores anyway. By design, we have chosen that filtering is manual – but it is really easy to invoke. You can automatically hide all items marked for other stores as described here.
