Stock lists are intended for long-term storage, such as the freezer, stock of electric bulbs etc.
Things you don’t buy or consume often. Out of a normal shopping trip, maybe 10-20% of the goods are in long-term storage.

The shopping lists have a feature that tracks everyday items, things you consume / re-purchase frequently (every week). For a short-term inventory, such as what you have in the refrigerator, Grosh automatically carries out inventory status and this is seen under “Suggestions”. You can click on a suggestion and look at the details. You can not directly see what the calculated inventory is, but you can see the last purchase date and amount, calculated consumption rate and how much the system has figured out that you should buy into.

So, just use normal shopping lists to keep track of your short term storage!

Grosh in general needs access to your location when starting up, e.g. to identify if you’re in a store. If so, purchases you make (swipes on the list) will be automatically grouped together and tagged with the store associated with the location. There’s other functions too that depend on the location, like sorting the shopping list according to the layout of the store.
The webapp that you normally use from your laptop or desktop computer also needs access to your location. Of course you’re not bringing that to a store, but the location is used to populate the app with offers. Some offers are only available at a specific location, so that’s why the location is needed.
In Chrome you can click the “lock” icon in the URL to see if you’ve allowed the webapp access to your location. In Safari, tap menu Safari – “Settings for this site” to grant permissions to the location.

This is caused be a periodic check for a valid purchase in the premium app. Should not happen very often!

There’s an iOS companion app for Grosh for Apple Watch that is installed on your iPhone. It has one purpose in life: to login to your Grosh account. So install the iOS app, login to Grosh and you will see “Logged in succesful, your name” on the login screen. When you start Grosh on the Apple Watch, the watch will show “Login required”. Then after some seconds, the iOS login screen will shown “Logged in on watch” and the watch will shortly after show the contents of your first shopping list.

As of Grosh 3.4, the system analyses the product name you type in to understand what you’re actually entering. Unlike other grocery shopping apps, Grosh tries to understand what you add to your list in order to generate relevant suggestions. So “2kg potatoes” is the same grocery as “potatoes”, so therefore we do not treat 2kg as part of the grocery name, but what we call variant information.
If you’re entering variant information but it does not get shown on the shopping list, it might be because you’ve turned off using variant information for the list. Tap select list, then the edit icon to the right of the list name to show list properties. Under list properties ensure “Use variant info” is toggled on.
