How do I share a recipe?

October 4, 2016

Recipes are shared and visible in the recipe list of all people you share shopping lists with, so you don’t have to share recipes with them. If you want share an recipe with others, here’s how you do it:

  1. Tap Meals in the menu. This shows your list of recipes in the Recipes tab.
  2. Tap a recipe. This shows the recipe details.
  3. Tap the Share recipe button at the bottom. This shows the recipe sharing screen.
  4. Enter email or name at the top. Existing users will have instant access, but also be notified by email. For email addresses unknown to Grosh, the app will generate a pre-filled email with the recipe, ready for you to send.
  5. If you want to share recipe by social media, tap the shown link to copy it to the clipboard, then make a post including the link on social media.

By default, new recipes you create are also searchable by other users using your language. We encourage all our users not to switch off the “Searchable” option for your recipes, but if you have a secret family recipe do remember to toggle Searchable off. This is done by tapping the recipe, Edit and then toggling “Searchable” off.

If you choose to bookmark a recipe you’ve found by searching, you store a reference to it in your list. If you want to modify the recipe, a copy will be created for you. Just like for recipes shared via email or from blogger websites.

Note: only the creator of a recipe can delete it. Others may just remove it from their view – this is done by tapping Remove from the … menu on the recipe screen.

Which platforms are supported by Grosh?

October 1, 2016

Grosh is available for iPhones or iPads running iOS 10 or later Appstore will install version Grosh 1.0 if you’re on iOS 7, or Grosh 3.9 if you’re on iOS 8 or 9) and Android devices running version 5 or later (Play will install Grosh 3.9 if you’re on Android 4). Grosh 4 and later has an Apple Watch extension, and from the same version Siri is supported too.

You can also access your grocery list from any laptop, desktop or other device able to run the Safari or Google Chrome web browser.

If you have a Pebble Classic, Steel, Time or Time Round smart watch, running the latest firmware, there’s also a Grosh for Pebble watch app available.

If you have an Alexa device, that’s supported too (albeit for a small set of languages).

Why does Grosh for Pebble report “Connecting…” ?

September 22, 2016

We’ve had several users reporting that they can login to Grosh inside the Pebble Time app, but the watch app just keeps reporting that it’s trying to connect. This could happen if you’ve used percentage sign in your password, so please don’t do that for the moment. Here’s some other steps that could also fix this:
1. Update the Pebble firmware
2. Reinstall the Grosh watch app (in the Pebble app)
3. Update the Pebble app

What to do if the app starts very slowly?

September 4, 2016

To optimise performance, Grosh keeps a local copy of data on the phone. This is synced with our servers in the cloud. If Grosh seems to take forever to start, it could be the result of a bad Internet connection which again could lead to an inconsistent state or the local data. To fix it, it could be quicker to deinstall and reinstall the app, as this wipes all locally stored data. As all data is stored on our servers, you will not lose any data doing this.
